Cranbrook Newsletter - 2024 Term 2 Week 2
Principal's Message
Parent Teacher Interviews
Thanks very much to those families who were willing and able to take the time out to attend our Parent/Teacher Interviews this week. We really appreciate you connecting with us.
If you weren't able to make an appointment, please remember that you are welcome to contact your child's teacher via email, with any concerns or queries you may have.
Anzac Day Commemorative Service
On Wednesday we held an Anzac Day Commemorative Service in our school hall in solemn remembrance of the anniversary of the Australian and New Zealander landings in Gallipoli. Thank you to the families and invited guests who were able to join us for this special recognition of our defence personnel.
Anzac Day March at the Strand
Our School Captains (and their families) selflessly represented our school and attended the Dawn Service with Mr Capell, laying a wreath in respect of our ANZACs.
Cranbrook students and staff then participated in the Anzac Day parade along the Strand together with veterans and returned service organisations, active military units, other local schools, and eligible community groups and service organisations.
Well done and thank you to our students who did a great job being patient for so long before the parade began and for their focus while walking along. Thank you too, for our staff who organised our participation and walked with our students.

Term 2 Extra Curricular Activities
During Term 2, Cranbrook State School will offer a wide range of Extra-Curricular Activities for students to participate in, due to the generosity and enthusiasm of the teachers who volunteer their own time. Some parents may have noticed that the offer to participate in Guitar, have already been emailed.
The Process for Term 2:
- A schedule of the extra-curricular activities will be released via email and newsletter in Week 1.
- Extra-curricular activities begin and conclude at different times during the term.
- Students will be reminded through morning announcements during week 2 of the activities that are available on that day.
- If students attend on that day, the teacher will make a decision as to who can and who cannot attend based on numbers.
- If the activity is an afternoon or before school activity, all students can attend in Week 2 to determine who can join.
Please discuss with your child about what opportunities they may wish to be involved in and remind them about their attendance on a weekly basis.
Enjoy your weekend!
