Every Day Counts - Attendance ✔✔✔
Regular, punctual attendance at school is expected of all students.
Students should be present at school ready to prepare for the day's learning by 8:30am.

Late Arrivals
Students arriving after 8:50am must report to the office to receive a lateslip. If a student is late, a letter of explanation from the student's parent/guardian must be presented to the office staff on arrival.
Absence
If a student is absent and the parent/guardian has not notified the school, they will receive an automated text message by 10am that day.
Parents will receive a text message informing them that their child is absent. If you receive one of these text messages, please contact the school to explain the reason for your child’s absence.
A working mobile number should be registered with the school, if available.
Please remember that absence is only marked for the days specified by the parents. If you ring up on a Monday informing that your child is sick and they remain away from school for the following 2 days because they are sick you need to inform us that this was the reason for their absence. You can inform us after the absence via a message directly to the teacher or by contacting our absence hotline or email.
If your child is absent, please leave a message detailing:
- Child's name
- Class
- Reason for absence
- Dates or duration of absence

👍PBL - Positive Behaviour for Learning👍
Last week, our PBL was about including everyone!
This week, we looked at accepting responsibility.
Below is the 'for families' poster of our lessons, which gives you a chance to continue these conversations at home and possibly apply them to your daily family life.

🎭From the Arts🎨
MUSICAL WEEK!
Our school musical has been an incredible journey, showcasing not only the talents of our students but also the dedication, teamwork, and commitment that has gone into bringing it to life. From countless hours of rehearsals, learning lines, choreography, and music, to the behind-the-scenes organisation, every student has poured their energy and passion into making this production something truly special. It has been inspiring to see the way they have supported each other, worked hard, and grown in confidence throughout the process. None of this, however, would have been possible without the extraordinary effort of our Arts teachers, Mrs Onslow and Ms Earle. Their vision, creativity, and unwavering encouragement have guided the students every step of the way. They have given endless hours of their own time to ensure every detail was perfect, going above and beyond to bring out the very best in each student. Their passion for the Arts and belief in our students has not only made this musical a success but has also created memories that will last a lifetime. We are also incredibly grateful to the many staff members and parents who gave their time and support—whether it was helping with costumes, sets, supervision, or organisation—your contribution has played such an important role in making this event possible. It is truly because of this combined effort from students, teachers, staff, and families that our musical has come to life in such a spectacular way.

Solid Pathways University Day
Our Solid Pathway Students had a blast at their University Day last week! They all got to go in groups against other school in trying to complete a marble run and the winners being the ones to make their marble take the longest to go down! Solid Pathways is all about working together and also trying your best by yourself!

Environmental Centre
Our environmental centre is based around our Chook pen and Garden area here at Cranbrook, where it can be enjoyed by many students thanks to the dedication of Ms B and a group of Grade 6 students. The students are members of the Cranbrook Environmental Crew. The captains are Kiarna and Elena. Members include Sarah, Indy, Hailee and Samantha. Their jobs include cleaning the Chook Pen, collecting eggs, and providing the chickens with food and water. Their jobs have now extended to the garden and surrounds. The Environmental group started when the are was damaged by storms and floods. It was covered with leaves and broken tree branches. To get the area to where it is today, Ms B and the students had to rake leaves and clean up the garden. It wasn’t easy but we are so thankful to their dedication and time in making it the perfect area for our beloved chickens and gardens. The group have created a beautiful garden with fruits and vegetables.
Our wonderful students Environmental journey started with cleaning up the damage from the floods and has grown into creating an inviting area with a sustainable garden where the Cranbrook Students regularly visit to enjoy watching the chickens roam happily.
Before the Environmental group was created, Ms B was asked a simple question, whether she needed any help or not. Since asking that question Ms B’s jobs have been delegated to our wonderful group of students and sharing the load has made it even more functioning. Many life skills have been learnt when taking care of the Chickens and the Environmental area. The students moving forward are planning on clearing some more space to create some beautiful flower beds and even clear some space to extend the chicken pen.
The Environmental Crew have one request to the students who are distributing shredded paper in the are – Can you please put the paper in the bins provided.
We are so proud of the efforts in this group and with Ms B providing her time and knowledge to help make the Environmental Centre and the Students evolve and grow!

School Support Staff Appreciation Day!
This week at Cranbrook we are celebrating School Support Staff Appreciation Day, and we want to take a moment to recognise and thank the incredible team of people who make our school such a wonderful place. From our dedicated Teacher Aides who support learning in and out of the classroom, to our hardworking Admin and Office Staff who keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes, each role is vital in helping our school community thrive. We are so grateful for our School Psychologist, who provides care and guidance for the wellbeing of our students, and our School Officers, who are always willing to step in wherever they are needed with patience and kindness. A special thank you also goes to our Computer Technician Staff who keep us connected and running, our Community Hub Staff who help build relationships and support families, and our Family Support Co-ordinator whose care and assistance makes a difference to our school community. Every member of our staff plays a part in creating a welcoming, supportive, and positive environment for our students, families, and each other. Their hard work, commitment, and generosity do not go unnoticed, and we truly value the time, effort, and heart they put into Cranbrook every single day.

The Cranbrook Community Hub 👋

Well, here we are – just 2 weeks left of the term! We hope you are all hanging in there and doing well.
The Hub is our adult space. We want our parents/carers to use it for what they need – a bit of rest and respite, a place to safely talk, where to go to meet up with fellow class families and to meet new ones, a place to enjoy activities you may not ordinarily do.
Wednesday this week, we will acknowledge RUOk Day, with activities, morning tea and a chance to check in with each other and ask Are You Okay? Come and join us, from 8.45 – 11am (or any time in between).
On Thursday, 11 September, we have something a little different and that is our Blokes BBQ. That’s right, Dads, Grandads and those males in a Fathering role, this is for you! Come and join us outside the hall, for a beer, a sausage and a chat with Cranbrook Dad and local GP, Reuben Scott. 6 – 8pm.
In the Community:
This coming week is Child Protection Week. You are invited to a free public screening of the movie, Seen. This is a though-provoking, powerful presentation, of the journeys of four families, through the tough times of life.
9 September. More information is on the flyer below. Make sure you register via the QR code.
Also, for the blokes, is a community-led event - a gathering of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men, to discuss and develop a Model of Care that will support Indigenous men to live in right relationships with self, families, community and country. All Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Men are welcome. 19 & 20 September. Please see the flyer below for more information and make sure you register via the QR code.
Have a great week, everyone!

Honouring two decades of advocacy |
Today we unveil ‘Don’t Waste It’ - The Daniel Morcombe Story, a powerful documentary film reflecting on two decades of child safety advocacy from The Daniel Morcombe Foundation. This powerful 30-minute documentary honours Daniel’s legacy and educates teens on personal safety. This film is quite different to all the others we regularly share with you. Heritage Films has had the honour to produce Don't Waste It as part of the Foundation’s incredible 20-year celebrations. What an incredible legacy and what a wonderful way to honour Daniel, Bruce and Denise and the Foundation’s legacy for the way they have tirelessly worked to keep children safe.
