School Uniform Policy
Cranbrook is a uniform wearing school. All students should come dressed each day in the full school uniform:
- Shorts/Skorts
- Polo – school and sports
- HAT (no other hats should be worn and students asked to place non-school hats in their bags
It is important to recognise that our school uniform policy is a vital part of the education strategy of our school. At Cranbrook, we value, neat, tidy, dignified personal presentation which will prepare students for their future, enhance their leadership skills and ensures that they take pride in being part of a team.
Cranbrook School Uniforms can be purchased from the P & C Uniform Shop located at the back of the Hall.
Year 1 Classes
During 2021 our Year 1 enrolments have continued to grow with new families joining our school community. Even though the Year 1 teachers have done a great job in managing the oversized classes up to this point, Semester 2 of Year 1 is a key time in a child’s educational development and we MUST ensure we give every child the best chance at succeeding during this important period.
For this reason, our school has decided that the best way to improve the chances of success for all Year 1 students is to create a 3rd Year 1 class for the remainder of the year to allow our staff to ensure that every child’s educational need are being meet for the remainder of the year.
The new staffing arrangements for the remainder of 2021 will be:
• 1A – Mr Abraham
• 1B – Miss Hutchinson
• 1C – Mr Henry
Students will be transitioned to the new classes on Friday 20th August so they are ready to begin in their new classes on Monday morning.

A Visit from our Adopt-A-Cowboy
Riley Price, Cranbrook's Adopt-A-Cowboy, came to 2A and 3A on Wednesday morning to assist with their learning of the Arts subjects: Media and Music. Riley became 2A’s client and was dressed for an ‘olden day’ photograph by the students. Students then used iPads to take a photograph that used 'olden day posing'. Students are learning how to edit photographs using media to look either old or futuristic.
While visiting year 3, Riley helped students analyse magazine covers, played the music game Aquaqua and listened to the 3’s sing ‘The Wellerman’. Riley has been an excellent role model for this project to date and we thank him for his cooperation and engagement with the children.
Riley participated and engaged well with the students and was more than willing to get ‘dressed up’!
We would like to take this opportunity to thank ‘Bravus Mining and Resources’- the presenting partner of this worthwhile school project and all other participating sponsors.
Cranbrook enjoys when Riley visits and hope he is back again soon!

Absence For More Than 10 Days
What is an exemption and why do I need it?
Every parent of a child of compulsory school age has a legal obligation to ensure their child is enrolled and attending school. Parents can apply for an exemption from this obligation when their child cannot attend or it would be unreasonable in all the circumstances for their child to attend school for a period of more than 10 consecutive school days.
Situations where an application for an exemption may be made include:
- Illness
- Family reasons
- Cultural or religious reasons
If your child is exempt from compulsory schooling, you are excused from your obligation in relation to compulsory schooling.
The school principal is not responsible for providing an educational program for your child, however they may provide advice on other educational options available. Decisions about exemptions for up to one school year are made by the principal and decisions about exemptions for more than one school year are made by the relevant Regional Director of the Department of Education, Training and Employment, responsible for the supervision of the school your child attends.
